SWaP on OffeR

This has been copied from Kim's blog...
Is anyone interested in a Halloween Ornament Exchange?
- You need to be a follower of KIM's blog... HERE
 - Contact KIM by posting a response to her post or send her an email.

You don't need to have a blog, HOWEVER, I need to have a way of contacting you.  Some are
"no reply" bloggers, so I cannot reach you.  If you leave a message on this post and are a "no reply"
blogger, I regret I will not be able to add you to the group.
- Halloween ornament may be the ornament of your choice.  It doesn't need to be cross stitched
  - but it should be hand made.
 - It needs to be a completed project, ready for your Exchange Partner to hang up and enjoy.

I will take sign ups until August 22nd and will notify each stitcher by August 30th who they are exchanging with.  Please mail your ornaments no later than October 1st, notifying me when you slip it in the mail so I can make note.
Any and all stitchers are welcome - international exchange participants are welcome

As my  Christmas Thru The Year project for the month of August... I made a circular needlecase, sissor fob, sissor keep & pin cushion "set".
The needlecase pattern is FREE from Kris over HERE.
I also added a pair of purchased "embroidery" sissors (didn't sew ).
This "set" is now in the BoX waiting to go out to a sewing friend in DeCeMBeR.

I just need to purchase some crushed walnut shells for filling the pin cushion.

Thanks to Anthea...once again... for hosting this month!

Boy Oh BoY... retreats are exhausting... lol
Using a rotary cutter I finished cutting all strips in my "Cats Picture" charity quilt.
It will be a bright & truly colourful quilt for whoever wins it... boy or girl... when complete.

Sewing borders onto previously started blocks...
They went from this...
To this...
Then 3 blocks stitched in line to make 1 row.
Row 2 of 4...
No sewing today as... hubby has returned.

Yesterday I finished off the embroidery for a gift in the Lets Stitch Together 3rd swap. Then I made up the "gift bag" but I can't show you yet as it's a ssshhh secret.
The embroidery pattern is from the book Baskets in Bloom by Gail Pan.
My swap is now complete... ready & waiting for mailing to... ???
Thanks Maree for another great swap idea.

I've been wanting to start on a "WonKy StaR ScraPPy" quilt for into the scrap bin I dove. I only plan on making up blocks when the urge takes me... in between other projects... AND I will only use my scraps (I purchased "white" for stars & sashing)... so I very much enjoyed making up the first 10 1/2 inch block using light GREENs.
Do you recognise the pic's my BLocK KeePer I received in my swap from Marc. It's perfect for keeping the wonkies in...

Then... I PLaYeD with these yummy fabrics...

FNSI Results

Actually I had MoRe than just the night sewing... I had most of the day... yeah!
Most of the sewing was SeCReT stuff shh...but some projects I can show you...
I volunteered to sew the binding & label on a charity that was finished first.
Next job was to sandwich/pin the baby play rug for DD2 friend...
The quilting will be done over the weekend I hope... fingers crossed xx
I needed to replace a trim on my North Pole flimsy, then add a border, before pinning ready for quilting... so that was the next item on the agenda.
I'm happy with the result too after a fabric disappointment.... more on that later.
The rest of my time was spent on swap items... Oooh so much FuN !
Thanks Wendy for allowing us to come over to sew with you at FNSI.

This was a FuN swap... coming up with something using "spots" or "circles".

PaY iT ForWaRd

Gift parcels went out to TWO of the four ladies who signed up in my PIF a few months back.
I sent a "project bag"... originally it was designed as a casserole carrier but I think they are just fantastic to carry all the larger projects.
I just love mine so I made up two for gifts to Sandra & Nanette.

I also included an "initial hanger" for each lady. When complete each little hanger measures 8 inch & the alphabet is a Michelle Ridgway design... available from HERE.
Plus a few bits-n-pieces.
I received emails from both Sandra & Nanette suggesting that they were happy with my choices.
