ForGoT OnE

I had some family members here for a few days and so I didn't get into my cubbyhole until late yesterday. It was then that I realised that I had forgotten to show block 4 in the Santa's North Pole Village QAL.
So... here it is... but the embellishments will be added later.
This is the "Doll Shop and Truck Shop".

All 5 blocks in actual layout position for the quilt.

You may notice that some blocks are different sizes but I've left them so I can trim them to size when I sew them together. I also want to join up the snow between blocks as well. There are a couple of trees to be added between blocks as well.
Having said all that... it really is a FuN quilt to put together.

My Heart Goes OuT

Unfortunately one of my swappers NEVER received her Valentines Day Initial Heart Swap package from her partner. I chased the package during March & April and finally after NOT receiving any more excuses / answers to my emails... I decided to forward an "Angel" gift to Donna.
Donna loves purple/mauve/lavender/lilac so I sent over a few small items in her fav colour to make it up to her.

Donna has now received her "PuRpLe" package.

I had a FuN night in with friends ... sewing along happily... and made this!

It's found in Patchwork & Stitching vol 12 #8 page 66 if you want the pattern.

I thought that by using black thread blanket stitched around the edge, star buttons & ric rac, it had a "country" feel to it... which I liked.

Santa's Village UpDatE

I added a small block to the finished box. Well perhaps NOT finished completely but it only needs the "sign" embroidered and then trimming to size when it's ready to go into the quilt. This is block 5 for me.
This block is called "Welcome to the North Pole" on page 22 of the Piece o' Cake designs book. It has been made using the fusible method and machine appliqued using blanket stitch around edges.

It actually feels good to be up to date on this QAL !

Boo

I know I'm a bit early... but I just wanted to play with fabric yesterday and make something FuN!

I've had a HaLLoWeeN runner on my PhD list... so I killed two birds with the one project... so to speak... by making this small runner. It measures 15in x 30in and fits perfectly on my entry table. I hope I don't see the spider that made THAT web though...lol

Now it will get tucked away until October...
but I'll be ready for when the 31st comes around!
