A FeW ITeMs

The appliqué charity quilt called  Mother Goose Nursey Rhymes  by Kookaburra Cottage Quilts is now a flimsy after deciding NoT to add the borders.
It's going to a Pre School as a wall hanging so the size without borders is perfect.
I'll be giving it to our Guild to finish it now - well after a good PRESS anyways...
but I'll get it back to add the binding.

I was asked to make an adult Book Pillow for DD#2 friend.
This one measures 20 inch square & has a zip closing back.

And after playing on TeeNa... I pieced & used the quilt-as-you-go method on the long arm frame, to make a quilt. Using my electronic channel lock was a dream & so I used lots of straight lines to get quality practise. The tension was great & the FMQ was simple but very acceptable, so for my FiRST attempt using a long arm I was EXTReMeLy pleased.

HaPPy VaLenTiNeS DaY To Me...

 WoW... how lucky am I...
I said "Flowers" would be nice... 😘💏... instead I received TEENA.
On this special day I took possession of a HQ Simply Sixteen long arm quilting machine on a little foot frame with a little buddy kit added.
It also has some "other" wonderful additions so I'm in heaven.
I know its NoT as big as some machines some of you have... BuT space was my consideration... & this is PeRFeCT for me & my cubbyhole.
I quilted my first quilt this weekend after PLaYinG for a few days.
It was a simple scrap "quilt as you go" (yes pieced on long arm too)...
using an electronic Channel Lock accessory... so nice & easy.
I quilted a few leaves on the "flower" fabric for some practise as well.
I leaned a LOT... with heaps more to go I'm sure... but mostly it was FuN...

My WeeK

I was asked to make a few book bags for a community shelter in need.
I used what fabrics I had on hand & got one made during the week.
The second one, I completed at FNSI with Wendy.
You can find FNSI over HeRe...
I found some "old but unused" corduroy & added a butterfly...
There are a few more on the cutting table... so I better get busy.
Thanks Wendy.

Going Loco

I was gifted a "kit" from a fellow Guild member late last year.
It's called Going Loco & it's by Margaret Kirkby.
My friend Helen asked if I would make it up as a Community Quilt.
It was such an easy & FuN request to complete.
I will quilt it in the near future BuT for now I have a 40in x 60in flimsy.
