Let's BooK It AGaiN

I have linked this post to Sharon at Vroomans Quilts... over HeRe.
Sharon hosts us monthly in this Let's Book It group. It really helps me to use patterns I've collected but just never get to... & this month is no different.
I used a free pattern from "" although I added another row to make it longer. My baby play rug finished at 36 inch x 45 inches. It has lots of ribbons for sensory development... & you can also add a rattle or soft toy to any of the ribbons as well.
DD2 gave it to her work colleague & new baby boy & they both think it's wonderful... so I'm a HaPPy SeWeR.

I used stash fabric for this play rug so I've added another project to my
2016 Scrap Busting Challenge list as well.

WooHoo... I'm loving this personal challenge...

I had an early Friday Night Sew In this month as I have guests staying over this weekend.
Wendy hosts us all each month... so if you would like to check out what other sewers, stitchers or crafters get up to tonight... just click HeRe... sometime over the weekend.
I put together a Blanket of Love... simple but sweet I think.
Into the box it goes waiting to go off to one of the hospitals.
I used my stash too so another project goes on the "scrap challenge list" as well.

Thanks Wendy...

NeW ConTaiNerS

I had a large plastic tub full of buttons sitting on a shelf in my cubbyhole.
They were stored in plastic bags, some on cards, in bottles or sewn together & many were just loose.
The other day while out shopping, I spied a set of coloured containers which immediately my brain turned into button containers. They even had lid colours the same as the buttons I had loose.
So from that mess... to this... How good do they look NoW... & so easy to find.
And as a bonus...all 5 new containers fit into the original tub on the shelf again.
The container set of 5 were approx $3.50 from the ReJecT ShoP...
... & I think I'll go purchase another set...

My WeeK

With all the glorious sunshine we have been having lately... my cubbyhole was the last place I wanted to be during the day... BuT I did venture in there... albeit at night.
Remember "part A" of the Night Before Christmas quilt that I was working on... well I finished it... embellishment & all... eye, whiskers & tail...
I also worked on part B of the same block ...
I traced more applique shapes... ironed... cut... made a mess... just the kind I LoVe... ironed again,
AnD before I knew it, I had another block finished.
Part A was stitched to part B... with side pieces & blocks at lower edge also added.
Now I have to blanket stitch around all the pieces...  it's under the needle as I type...

I also played with spotty fabric... cutting & sewing... making 2 & 4 patch blocks...
& framing a few centre blocks as well...
but MoRe on this project later.
